On November 17, 2018 the Ma Yurlim foundation in collaboration with the Tamale Central Hospital  organized a free health screening in the Tamale municipality (Central Market). This foundation was founded by the 2017 Ghana’s Most Beautiful (GMB) Pageant Winner, Ms. Zainab Abdul-Mumin. As a daughter of the Northern region of Ghana, Zeinab proved her influential status in pulling together the market women, leaders of the communities and selected media houses to cover the program.

Fay International Ltd. were alongside other stakeholders, namely Swiss Red Cross and Zenith Bank, all of whom helped ensure the event resulted a positive and successful day.

The screening was based on the prevention and detection of Hepatitis B, Diabetes, Blood Pressure (BP) and an eye screening was also given to all participants.

Between the hours of 8am-9am, Mary Achieng Ojuka, the marketing manager of Fay International Ltd, was given the floor to educate the women on the Faytex products and personal menstrual hygiene management to the market women and all interested bystanders. Ms. Zeinab also had the opportunity to thank the women for the massive support they showed her during her term in the house.

At 9am exactly, the female participants were seated and the health practitioners (doctors and nurses) began the screening.

The main targeted group of the screening was solely for the market women but the turnout was so massive that we had no other choice than to screen both men and women.

The screening ended at exactly 4pm and was the turnout and satisfied community members confirmed that the whole event was a fruitful and successful one.
